We’re a bunch of friends that discovered our audio geek tendencies separately, but now we’re all coming together to form Voltron, providing you with sonic content that we hope you enjoy as much as we enjoy playing and creating it for you. What we do is akin to making the average mixtape, but with all the sincerity, earnestness, and authenticity of your local college radio station or independent record label. We’re content producers, audiophiles, and hobbyists that revel in experimentation and the DIY ethic. We scour the internet as curators, and end up producing this stuff while sitting on our couches, in our apartments, rapping into our Skype headsets, and messing around with our computers.

Clocked at 140BPM, local booking agents once referred to her as “Heart Attack Girl” after gender-correcting an early Beastie Boys’ song. All-parts independent, upstart, urban, punk — both spirited and soulful, fastslowfastslow, anthemic and struggling, she bests and boasts all subgenres in the interest of “freeformats.”

Jazz but not jazz. Dance music that’s hard to dance to. Hip hop without guns. And transcendental post-modern humanist humor. Maybe.

An android partially built with jukebox components, Septalux is on the run from his creators, and must continue to fulfill his music-playing directives, lest he violate his programming and activate his auto-shutdown subroutines. The show: radio-esque with some UHF horror host shenanigans thrown in for good measure. Offbeat, electronic, indie, geek-friendly, and whatever fits the bill.
